Memorial University political scientist Kelly Blidook says while under normal circumstances, the defeat experienced by Ches Crosbie for instance, would lead to his resignation, but that’s not a certainty.
Voter turnout and other possibilities raised through the election could call that into question says Blidook.
He expected to hear more of the type of questions raised by Alison Coffin on the legitimacy of the election from the PC leader.
Crosbie says he will take some time to decide what happens next.
