The union which represents the majority of public sector workers in the province is hanging onto every word from the Premier these days.
NAPE President Jerry Earle is reminding the Premier that their contract does not allow the government to cut jobs as a solution to our financial woes.
The deficit is, by some accounts, out of control. Even Andrew Furey says—on one hand—we have to quit relying on debt, but adds on the other hand that now is not the time to cut jobs.
Earle says NAPE is watching for Moya Green’s interim report and the recommendations that come with it. He says Furey will also be consulting with the general population, 25,000 of who are NAPE members and their families.
