Premier Andrew Furey says he plans on updating the Elections Act following one of the most unusual elections in the province’s history.
Furey describes the election as “different,” maintaining that no one could have predicted February’s spike in COVID cases.
While Furey intends to modernize the Elections Act, he defends the choices made.
He argues that with the benefit of time and history people will look back on the election as “the right balance of democracy and public health.”
