The cod quota in 3Ps on the province’s south coast has been cut in half.
Federal Fisheries Minister Bernadette Jordan today announced that Canada and France have agreed to a Total Allowable Catch of 1,346 tonnes—that’s a 50 per cent reduction from last year.
Minister Jordan indicates that given the stock is in the critical zone, a reduction in the TAC was necessary.
