There was a fire at the offices of the FFAW in St. John’s over the weekend.
The Fish, Food and Allied Workers’ Union posted the news on Facebook saying it was controlled and put out by firefighters.
They said there were no staff in the office at the time, though it’s not clear exactly when it happened or the extent of the damage.
The post said the FFAW is cooperating fully with the investigation into the cause of the fire, and it won’t disrupt the union’s work.
The offices are located on Hamilton Avenue in a building named after former union president Richard Cashin.
It’s not known if other businesses in the building were affected by the fire.
