Hospitality NL is glad to see Marine Atlantic reverse its April 1 rate increase.
The chair of Hospitality NL, Brenda O’Reilly, says when the increase was announced back in February the organization saw it as another negative impact for tourism operators across Newfoundland and Labrador.
O’Reilly is encouraged by the fee reversal that she says will help the province’s path to economic recovery.
While she calls it a win, she says much more needs to be done long term to ensure the price of travel is balanced so that the level of service does not erode or deter travelers from coming to the province.
