A key link in the Provincial T’Railway in eastern Newfoundland has been declared unsafe to cross because of structural issues but the T’Railway Council is working as fast as it can to assess the damage.
A rider first noticed rusting components of the Gambo Trestle, eventually leading to the shutdown of the link by government officials.
Council President Rick Noseworthy says there is no safe detour around the trestle as ATVs would have to ride on the TCH.
An ATV is not permitted on the road and that’s why this trestle is so important he says. They had a similar situation a few years ago with a trestle in the middle of nowhere in Terra Nova with no safe detour.
