The new Liberal cabinet will be sworn in tomorrow morning.
Premier Andrew Furey will be sworn in at 9:00 tomorrow morning followed by the new cabinet at 11:00.
While Furey is not tipping his hand just yet as to what the new cabinet will look like, the Opposition is calling for the Premier to establish a cabinet with gender equity.
Seven women were either elected or re-elected under the Liberal banner in the last election, including two new faces: Lucy Stoyles and Krista Lynn Howell.
Among those re-elected are Pam Parsons who served as Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly in the last sitting, and Sherry Gambin Walsh, who was removed from cabinet last year after breaching cabinet confidentiality.
When asked about the make-up of the new cabinet at Wednesday’s COVID briefing, Premier Andrew Furey indicated we’ll have to wait and see.
