Police are investigating a collision that occurred yesterday on the TCH west of Badger for impaired driving.

Springdale RCMP contacted about a possible impaired driver shortly after 1 p.m.

An hour later, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP responded to a serious two-vehicle collision just west of Badger. The occupants of one vehicle were trapped inside and had to be extracted by firefighters.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 51-year-old woman, showed signs of impairment. RCMP confirmed that she was the suspected impaired driver that was reported out of Springdale.

The occupants were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation continues.
