There are no new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the province today and no new presumptive positive cases.
COVID testing clinics set up in the Corner Brook and Meadows areas of the province are fully booked. The clinics were set up to test for the potential spread of the virus beyond the five new cases confirmed over the weekend. All of the new cases are close contacts of previous cases.
There are ten active cases of the virus in Newfoundland and Labrador including eight in Western Health and two in the Eastern Health region.
The case involving a man in the Western Health region reported on Friday has been linked to travel within Canada, while the source of two other recent cases—one in the Western Health region and one in Eastern Health remain under investigation.
Close to 30,000 doses of COVID vaccine are expected in the province this week, while just over 110,000 doses have been administered to date—just under 10,000 of those have received both doses.
