The Prime Minister is announcing additional 8-million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
Canada will receive 4-million of those doses in May, and 2-million more in both June and July.
This new deal doubles the amount of Pfizer doses originally expected.
Trudeau hopes this will let people “breath a sigh of relief,” as more doses mean more people getting vaccinated.
This comes amid concerns after Moderna announced that Canada will receive only around half of its expected number of doses in April due to manufacturing troubles in Europe.
