One of the province’s seven MPs doesn’t believe they will be making trips to Ottawa to participate in Parliament any time soon.
Federal government proceedings largely moved to an online setting last year in accordance with travel restrictions nationwide.
Jack Harris is a member of the NDP representing the riding of St. John’s East.
With third waves hitting other provinces hard he doesn’t foresee members travelling for parliament in the near future.
He believes the government is still able to get everything done in the virtual format but does note that it is a different experience.
He explains that personal interaction and building relationships are key to getting things done, and the digital format makes that harder to do.
