The search for a young man who slipped into the waters at Flatrock earlier this week has been suspended.
The RNC continued their efforts today in locating 21-year-old Supul Jayasingh but decided to call off the search due to deteriorating wind and sea conditions.
They’re asking area residents and vessel operators to keep their missing person investigation in mind in case any more evidence comes to light.
UPDATE – We have suspended the search for a missing man in @TownofFlatrock, as conditions continue to deteriorate in the area. We continue to request that the community, as well as vessels in the region, report any information which may assist this search. #ThankYou

Supul was out walking with his parents and dog Wednesday night in the area of The Beamer when he ended up in the swirling water.
MUN President Vianne Timmons says Supul wanted to become a doctor and had a dream of joining Doctors Without Borders. She says the Memorial community joins his family and friends in mourning his loss. She encourages students who wish to avail of counselling to do so through the Student Wellness and Counselling Centre.
Meanwhile, Mayor Darrin Thorne says the trails can be very dangerous.
The Beamer is a beautiful and popular attraction in Flatrock, but Thorne warns it’s best to stay on the trail.
After a rainfall, or when the seas are rough, it can be quite slippery on the rocks and he advises people to stay on the beaten path.
