There is one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the province today.
The case, a man in his 40s in the Western Health region, is under investigation. Contact tracing is underway and anyone considered a close contact has been advised to quarantine.
Meanwhile, there are four new recoveries—one in Eastern Health and three in the Western Health region, leaving 23 active cases in the province.
There are 14 active cases in Eastern Health, eight in Western Health, and one in Central Health.
As of today’s update, the provincial COVID hub says 144,847 doses of vaccine have been administered in NL, and 135,173 people have been vaccinated with at least one dose.
The Department of Health says the next update of Newfoundland and Labrador’s COVID numbers is anticipated to arrive on Tuesday. No updates will be provided over the weekend unless circumstances significantly change, according to a department spokesperson.
