The City of St. John’s has announced the 2021 recipients for the Housing Catalyst fund.
The fund supports organizations focused on providing housing solutions for residents of the city.
Due to the City’s partnership with the Community Housing Transformation Centre, the maximum grant increases from $10,000 to $30,000.
Six grants were awarded, totaling $135,000 dollars. End Homelessness St. John’s, Association for New Canadians, and Empower all received the maximum grant.
The deputy mayor and Council Lead for Affordable Housing, Sheilagh O’Leary, calls it a “beautiful recommendation”.
She says the organizations represent a good cross-section with youth, seniors, people with disabilities, and the downtown all being represented.
