An investigation is underway after human remains were discovered at the scene of several vehicle fires in Natuashish on Friday.
Local RCMP received a report shortly after 11 p.m. that a number of abandoned vehicles behind the Natuashish Band Council garage were on fire.
The blaze was cut down, and the remains of one person were found inside one of the vehicles. The identity has not yet been confirmed.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is assisting with the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
