The province is bracing for another possible outbreak of COVID-19 as case counts skyrocket in other parts of the country and around the world.
The last outbreak of the B117 variant in the metro region affected hundreds of people and spread like wildfire through the community.
Among those infected was local musician and candidate in the last provincial election, Damian Follett. He says while he and his family did not need to be hospitalized, the virus still packs a punch.
“I felt like there was something inside my body, trying to find the most vulnerable spots,” says Follett “attacking my back, attacking my neck, attacking my head…my knees.”
Follett says the virus hit him in ways he wasn’t expecting. He admits the pain was so severe at times that he experienced hallucinations.
Follett and his family have since recovered with no ill effects, and he offered his gratitude to the health care professionals he dealt with over the course of his illness.
