New vendors are setting up in Bannerman Park.
St. John’s City Councillor Jamie Korab says two new businesses will be providing food and beverage services at the park.
The Nickel Café, a locally-owned food service business, will occupy the Bannerman Park Canteen formerly occupied by Beavertails. The “Snack Shack” will open in mid-May.
Korab says the Snack Shack will have hot and cold beverages as well as picnic kits, which will provide people with everything they need for a picnic in the park.
In addition, the Mobile Vendors Association of Newfoundland has reached an agreement with the city, allowing a rotation of mVAN members to schedule blocks of time to set up on Bannerman Road.
Korab says these new businesses will enhance the overall experience at the park. There will be a wide variety of food offerings every week.
