St. John’s City Council is encouraging all residents to complete the 2021 Statistics Canada census.
Mayor Danny Breen says the information collected in the census is critical to city planning, municipal programs, and infrastructure and transportation.
Breen says the city uses census data every day, and it is vitally important this year as the city will use it to inform their plans on how to recover from the pandemic.
Due to the pandemic, residents of the country are encouraged to complete the census online. Residents without reliable internet are asked to call the Census Help Line.
The census will open on May 3 and will be available at census.gc.ca.
