Don’t feed the foxes.
Conservation officers have responded to several recent reports involving foxes that have become used to being fed by the public, resulting in unwanted encounters with property and pets.
The Department of Fisheries, Forestry, and Agriculture says wild animals are best left undisturbed in their natural environment and can become dangerous and unpredictable when approached.
Feeding a wild animal like a fox can create a public safety hazard and lead to the animal having to be put down.
