Serious Crash on TCH East of Gander: RCMP

There’s no word yet on the extent of injuries in a collision Sunday on the Trans-Canada Highway near Gander.

It happened just before 5 p.m., about two kilometres west of Benton.

Police blocked lanes in both directions for several hours as first responders and investigators went to work.

Photos posted to Twitter showed one transport truck and at least one other vehicle involved in the crash on a straight stretch of two-lane highway.

RCMP were expected to provide an update Monday morning.
