There were fifteen new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province yesterday, all but two of which are connected to travel within the country.
Public Health officials are compiling the latest numbers but there has been a steady increase in the number of people entering the province over the last few months.
In February, just over 6,500 people entered the province—42 per cent of whom were rotational workers, and 14 percent of whom were essential workers.
In March, nearly 8,000 people entered the province—44 per cent were rotational workers and 16.5 per cent were essential workers.
In April the number of people entering the province jumped to 9,800—38 per cent of whom were rotational workers and 15 per cent essential workers.
The number of requested travel exemptions rose from 207 in March to 364 in April, 10 per cent of which were denied last month.
