You’ve heard of cats stuck in trees, but residents of Hawke’s Bay encountered a different kind of animal on the top of a utility pole yesterday.
Alva Cassell-Newman posted photos to the Great Northern Peninsula Road Conditions Facebook page yesterday showing a black bear on a telephone pole just outside Hawke’s Bay.
Black bears are excellent climbers but are not often seen sitting atop a utility pole.
