Contract negotiations between the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor and the union representing its municipal employees have reached an impasse.
CUPE has informed the town that the union will not respond to the latest package offered.
An application for conciliation will be filed with the Department of Labour on behalf of the town.
CUPE National Representative says most of the proposals offered to the union are concessionary in nature and they have a “no concession” policy set out by the national union.
A union meeting is planned for this evening to bring members up to date.
