Caribou are on the move on the Great Northern Peninsula, and that means drivers can expect possible encounters with the animals.
The St. Anthony herd is moving back to its calving grounds and is traveling the area between the St. Anthony Airport and Eddie’s Cove and the road between the airport and Main Brook.
Drivers are being reminded to keep a close eye out for the animals to avoid a collision.
Motorists are advised to be aware of roaming caribou when travelling Northern Peninsula roadways located between the St. Anthony Airport & Eddies Cove, the St. Anthony Airport & Main Brook, and the road leading to Cook’s Harbour.
