The province is reporting five new cases of COVID-19 today, as well as one new presumptive positive case.
The presumptive positive case is in the Western Health region and is linked to one of the eight previously known cases in the Codroy Valley area. There is no evidence of widespread community transmission at this time.
All five newly confirmed cases are related to travel within Canada with four in the Eastern Health region and one in Central Health.
There are 13 recoveries, bringing the total number of active cases to 78.
Special Measures Order in Effect
A Special Measures Order comes into effect today, requiring all travellers five years old and older to be tested according to their self-isolation arrangements.
The new testing does not affect rotational workers from non-outbreak sites, travellers in the province for two days or less, or residents along the Labrador-Quebec border travelling to communities across the border.
