One recommendation in the recent Greene Report to the province, that has municipalities concerned is the suggestion of a cut to operating grants.
While the recommendations specifically mention Memorial University and the regional health authorities, Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador is looking for more clarity.
Interim Chair of MNL, Amy Coady-Davis, says if that includes municipal operating grants, the impact to towns across the province would be devestating.
She says municipalities cannot afford to take that kind of a financial hit. Municipal operating grants are used to help with infrastructure needs and to leverage other funds.
