Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting six new cases of COVID-19 today, and one new presumptive positive case.
Five of the new cases are in the Eastern Health region. Three of those cases are related to travel while the other two are close contacts of previous cases.
The sixth new case is in the Central Health region and is also related to travel.
The new presumptive case is in the Western Health region, leaving two presumptive cases in total. Once those are confirmed, they will be included in the province’s daily case count.
One person remains in hospital due to the virus.
There have been 16 new recoveries—15 of those are in Eastern Health, while the other one is in Central. The cases associated with the ship anchored in Conception Bay have recovered, and have left the province.
There are 83 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
Yesterday, the Department of Health and Community Services confirmed that a positive case of COVID-19 was identified at Anthony Paddon Elementary in Musgravetown.
The confirmation followed an inquiry from VOCM News. Testing was arranged for those considered close contacts.
