It’s a little bit like golf, and a little like frisbee. Disc Golf has come to the metro region.
A nine-hole course is being established in the nine-acre green space across from Confederation Building.
Nicholas House, president of Ultimate Frisbee NL, says disc golf is a great pastime that is gaining in popularity in the country.
There’s a practice basket for anyone who wishes to practice their throwing or putting. He says some of the more experienced disc golfers have told him that the course is a challenging one.
It all came together last year during the pandemic when House noticed that a lot of their frisbee friends on the mainland were heavily into disc golf.
You tee off from a flag that is posted in the ground, then throw a special disc at a basket in the fairway.
