An industry that has been decimated by the pandemic is showing some signs of recovery, but the tourism and hospitality industry faces challenges on several fronts. One area is human resources.

This is Tourism Awareness Week and the sector is hiring.

Brenda O’Reilly, chair of Hospitality NL, says because of the downturn many people have left the industry for jobs elsewhere. They’re hosting a virtual job fair tomorrow and asking people interested in a job in their industry to join in. They welcome students as many find their first jobs in hospitality.

She says it will feature some prominent employers across the province.
