The former president of the Placentia and Area Community Food Bank has been charged after allegedly defrauding the organization of more than $40,000.
51-year-old Elizabeth Roche of Freshwater, Placentia Bay was charged after a lengthy investigation into reported fraud at the food bank.
RCMP received a complaint back in March of 2019. Officers found what they call “numerous financial documents” that had been forged between 2012 and 2019 with misappropriation of funds totaling in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Police arrested Roche earlier this month and charged her with forgery and fraud over $5000 dollars. She has been released to appear in court on August 25th.
