Eleven Newfoundland and Labrador RCMP officers have been honoured for their enforcement of impaired driving in the province.
The officers have been inducted into the Nick Coates Impaired Driving Team for 2021.
To be inducted, an officer must have removed at least eight impaired drivers from the roads from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021.
Officers who removed between 8 and 11 impaired drivers are given the silver award, while those who removed more than 12 are given the gold award.
The team is named in honour of Nicholas Coates, who was killed by an impaired driver in 2013.
