Food First NL has announced the winners of its Food System Kickstarter.

Five teams pitched and developed a concept to improve the local food system.

First place was awarded to Mirella Leis for the Fish Market App, Sunday and Christiana Emmanuel won both second place and the People’s Choice Award for Afro Kitchen NL, and the Youth Social Innovator Award was given to Mahmudul Islam Shourov for NL Eats.

The program is part of Food First NL’s St. John’s Food Assessment, which supports action and engagement on food.
