A portion of the east end is without electricity after a van left Forest Road and crashed into utility poles. By the time the cube van came to rest, three poles had been cracked off and wires were down all over the road in the area of Workers’ Compensation.

First responders rushed to the scene and the driver was taken to hospital.

Part of Forest Road is impassable as well, the entrance to Quidi Vidi Village is closed except for local traffic.

Una Howard was working from home when she heard a massive bang. She first thought someone had crashed into her house but later realized it was the noise from a blown transformer.

She says normally there would be pedestrians in the area but as luck would have it, there were non around at the time of the accident.
