There are 14 new confirmed COVID cases in the province today—11 in the Central region, two in the Eastern Health region, and one in Western Health.
All but one of the new confirmed cases in central are linked to the cluster in that area, with one new presumptive positive case linked to the cluster.
Meanwhile, there are six presumptive positive cases in the Western Health region that are linked to a positive case reported yesterday. Some schools in the Stephenville area as well as offices and recreational facilities are closed as a precautionary measure.
Five people are in hospital, four of whom are in intensive care.
With seven new recoveries, there are 96 active COVID cases in the province.
Public Health is also advising rotational workers of identified outbreaks at two worksites out west. They include Imperial Oil in Cold Lake, Alberta and the Cigar Lake mine site in Saskatchewan.
Rotational workers with these projects who have returned to Newfoundland and Labrador in the last 14 days must self-isolate and physically distance away from household members, and call 811 to arrange for testing. These workers must now complete the full 14-day self-isolation period, regardless of test result.
