Ronald McDonald House has new wheels. The organization has helped unveil Phil Fowler’s new NASCAR late-model race car. With the organization’s logo on the hood, Fowler’s team will help promote and fundraise for them for the next three seasons.
Fowler says even before joining forces with Ronald McDonald House, he tried to help bring smiles to kids’ faces at the Eastbound International Speedway in Avondale. A couple of times when they had some big crashes at the track, he went out in the stands and gave some of the car parts away to children.
He says seeing the smiles on their faces and the sparkles in their eyes is what it is all about.
Connor Butt is one of the kids who got to see the new vehicle in person. He has been staying at Ronald McDonald House for about two weeks and says he was excited to get to see the race car.
He says it was a cool experience because someone who gets to race all over the world has come to the hospital facility to see all the children.
Fowler will compete in the official opening of NASCAR season at Eastbound International Speedway tomorrow.
