Some drug stores in the metro region are beginning to offer the vaccine for COVID-19.
Up to now, the only way to be inoculated was through a public clinic or testing site.
Jennifer Collingwood, the executive director of the Pharmacists Association of Newfoundland and Labrador, says supply is limited for now. They are applying the Moderna vaccine to anyone 18 years of age and older who is eligible for their first shot.
Collingwood says pharmacists have been ready to give the shot for quite some time and are happy to be part of the process.
Pharmacies expect to have more supply in a few weeks at which time they will offer people their second dose.
