St. John’s, the Avalon and Clarenville areas may experience some unusual June weather this afternoon following record-breaking temperatures this week.
Tiffany Cheeks from Environment Canada says snow is in the forecast.
She says it’s going to be pretty wet today with mostly rain, but she wouldn’t be surprised to see a few flakes of snow mixed in, especially over higher terrain. Potentially it could accumulate a couple of cm tonight but that would be localized and not widespread.
Cheeks says the wet weather should wrap up tonight with some showers or drizzle with warmer temperatures expected on Friday.
As for the weekend, she says Saturday looks nice with sun and Sunday also sunny with maybe a scattered shower late in the day.
