The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District Board of Trustees is officially closing three schools in the province.
Raymond Ward Memorial School in Norman Bay, Basque Memorial School in Red Bay, and Bayview Primary in Nipper’s Harbour will close their doors.
The NLESD says there were no students enrolled, staff assigned during this school year, and the district has confirmed that there will be no students in attendance in September 2021. The decision was made at the board’s regular public meeting on Saturday, June 12.
Board Chair Goronwy Price says the legislative process for the closures is now complete, clearing the way for the disposal of the properties.
