Newfoundland and Labrador will officially open its borders to other residents of Atlantic Canada, effective Wednesday, June 23.
Premier Andrew Furey confirmed the news today following a similar announcement by Nova Scotia Premier Iain Rankin.
That means residents of the other Atlantic provinces will be able to travel to Newfoundland and Labrador without the need to self-isolate for 14 days.
Visitors from other parts of Canada will still be expected to follow the entry requirements detailed in this province’s reopening plan “Together. Again.”
Today marks the start of the transition phase of NL’s reopening plan. Phase 1 could come into effect as early as July 1.
