Suncor is laying out the next steps for the Terra Nova FPSO. However, all plans are contingent on the sanction decision coming in the fall.
An agreement was reached last week to extend the life of the project, but the larger decision of whether or not the project will resume will be made in the fall.
However, Suncor is already planning for the Terra Nova’s return to the offshore.
After the sanction decision, they plan to do quayside work at Bull Arm on the island to prepare to sail for Spain for dry dock work in early 2022.
At the same time, Suncor would complete subsea work while the FPSO is across the Atlantic, meaning the vessel would return to station in fall 2022.
The sanction decision is set to come down in September.
