Locally filmed and produced TV show Hudson and Rex is attracting big audiences worldwide and according to the company that produces the show, the local talent behind the scenes plays a big factor in that success.
The show, produced by Pope Productions, features a team of about 200, most of whom are from this province.
Founder Paul Pope says Hudson and Rex is seen by about 7 million prime-time viewers in Europe. The UK audience alone has increased by 40 percent since the launch of the most recent season.
Pope says his team is the “finest crew that you’ll find anywhere,” and the proof of that is in their production costs.
He cites CSI Miami, which is Hudson and Rex’s greatest competitor for audience in France, as an example. That show’s budget is much higher, yet, he says, fans cannot tell the difference.
