The Town of Twillingate is dealing with a significant blow to its business core following a devastating fire that consumed a major commercial property this morning.
The fire destroyed the business complex on the main road which contained a number of businesses including Twillingate Auto, Napa Auto Parts, The Source, the local Student Program Office, All Out Fitness Gym, a local massage therapy clinic, Bell Mobility and the local bottle recycling depot.

The Twillingate Fire Department was assisted by firefighters from nearby Summerford to help knock down the blaze and prevent it from spreading beyond the structure.
The building contained a number of volatile and dangerous substances and surrounding businesses were advised to evacuate as a precaution.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
