A Newfoundlander was among the tens of thousands in attendance at Amelie Arena Wednesday night to see the Tampa Bay Lightning take the Stanley Cup for a second straight year.
The Lightning beat the Montreal Canadiens in game five of the Stanley Cup final series.
Melissa Pine is originally from Outer Cove, but is currently working in Tampa. She was back in this province watching the playoffs with growing excitement and suddenly decided to head back to Tampa early to take in Game 5 in person.
And she’s glad she did. She says regardless of who you were rooting for, the atmosphere in the arena was amazing.
