Some friends out enjoying the day on Friday on the Baie Verte Peninsula ended up rescuing a stranded dolphin.
Kaelin Lewis, Terra Traverse and Kenny Walsh were kayaking in Fleur de Lys when they spotted the disoriented dolphin near the beach.
In a video posted on Facebook, the trio is seen approaching the dolphin which was upside down in about two feet of water along the rocky coast. They believe it may have been struck by a passing boat.
After a few minutes the dolphin was guided through the rocks and pushed into deeper water, where after a bit of a rest it eventually swam out into the bay.
