A 24-year-old man from Pasadena has been stripped of his licence and vehicle after a handheld radar registered him traveling at reckless speeds on the Trans-Canada near Middle Gull Pond.
The RCMP charged Andrew Bennett after their LIDAR system clocked his Dodge Challenger travelling at 232 km/h—more than double the speed limit of the Trans-Canada Highway.
Police impounded Bennett’s vehicle, and charged him with excessive speeding, imprudent driving, and a criminal charge of dangerous driving.
He’s scheduled to appear in court this October to answer to the charges.
