A relay bike ride covering 1,000 kilometres across Newfoundland has raised almost 100,000 for Ronald McDonald House.
Referred to as ‘Momma’s Dream Team,’ the group of seven parents and their support team rode from the northwest tip of the island, arriving in St. John’s this afternoon to cheers and tears at Ronald McDonald House.
The eight-day journey included stops in numerous communities along the way, with a total of $96,000 raised toward hosting families with seriously ill children at Ronald McDonald House.
The facility provides a home for families of children who are being treated at the Janeway.
There are 365 Ronald McDonald Houses in 53 countries, including 15 across Canada.
