A Newfoundland man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has turned himself in to police.
RCMP say 23-year-old man Jesse William Lewis of Avondale showed up at the Bay St. George detachment last night.
The warrant for Lewis’s arrest was issued earlier this week after he left a halfway house in Stephenville and did not return as required.
In 2019 he was sentenced to five years in prison in connection with a series of incidents including a carjacking.
Lewis was on parole in connection with several serious convictions including armed robbery, assault with a weapon, assaulting a police officer, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, dangerous driving and other offences.
