The provincial government is sending two water bombers, four crew and three maintenance staff to western Ontario to help fight forest fires in the region.
Newfoundland and Labrador answered the call for assistance through the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre’s Mutual Aid Resource Sharing (MARS) agreement.
The province says adequate fire suppression resources remain in Newfoundland and Labrador with two water bombers, helicopters and fire suppression teams located throughout the province.
