A Trinity Bay business is struggling to find enough staff to offer all of its usual services.
As pandemic restrictions loosen, the tourism industry is looking at rebounding from a tumultuous two years. While travel has opened up, not all tourism operators are able to find enough staff to deal with the increase in business.
Wind at Your Back Guided Adventures announced in a Facebook post that after August 12, they would not be offering recreational kayak rentals, guided sea kayaking or guided hiking.
Owner/operator Barb Parsons-Sooley says that she’s put out that she’s hiring, but hasn’t gotten any response. She says it is “radio silence” as no emails, phone calls, or resumes are coming in.
Parsons-Sooley says other business owners have had the same experience. She says retail stores are having people come in, but after working the 120 hours that are required to get CERB, are not coming back.
